This dessert is about as delicious and simple as they come. Truly amazing. Truly satisfying. Truly leaving you feel like one serving is not enough.
INGREDIENTS:
1 pound frozen mixed berries
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
6 tablespoons sugar, divided
1/4 cup water
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/8 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
1/2 cup low-fat buttermilk
1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
DIRECTIONS:
1. In a medium (9- to 10-inch) skillet, cook berries lemon juice, 4 tablespoons sugar, and 1/4 cup water over medium heat until slightly thickened, about 11 to 13 minutes.
2. Meanwhile, in a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, 2 tablespoons sugar, and cinnamon. Add melted butter and buttermilk and stir until a moist dough forms.

Made this last night and LOVED it! Everyone agreed that it needed more berries, so next time I think I will double the berries. It was another Mamahollioni success! :)
